On September 14th and 15th, Hamburg hosted the European Fly-In meeting of the INBLF international network of law firms, generously catered for by our German partner firm, Brödermann Jahn Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH. The meeting was attended by 30 lawyers from a total of 12 countries from across Europe, Asia, and the United States.
Attorney and partner Eva Veselá represented Felix a spol. at the meeting, making the following comments about her participation:
“The atmosphere of the meeting was cordial while remaining very dynamic – both the professional and social programs were packed. I am grateful for the stimulating discussion panels, and I found the subsequent discussions and exchanges inspiring. I see the greatest benefit, however, in the personal connections one can make with other participants. It is at once useful and energizing to meet in person with colleagues with whom we usually only collaborate remotely.”
The two-day program covered current legal issues with an international element, such as the movement of goods with a focus on trade, customs duties, and trade sanctions, the movement of persons with a focus on immigration and labor law, UNIDROIT principles and their role in international commercial contracts, IP licensing, mergers and acquisitions etc. In addition, parts of the program addressed practical approaches to civil litigations in the US. Finally, discussions were also devoted to how to better foster collaboration among INBLF members.
In the accompanying program, the organizers set aside time to discussing the impact of the war in Ukraine and humanitarian aid.
In addition to expert panels, the participants had the opportunity to engage socially, discover the beauty of Hamburg and enjoy informal conversations over good food.
For Felix a spol., participation in the INBLF European Fly-In meeting is not merely a time to share professional experience and follow current trends, but above all an opportunity to build personal relationships with colleagues from around the world. Thanks to these contacts, we can offer our clients even better support in cases with international elements.
