JUDr. Roman Felix is the founder and managing partner of Felix a spol., and, along with practicing law, he manages the firm. After graduating from Charles University´s Faculty of Law in 1982, JUDr. Roman Felix worked in the judicial sphere between 1982 and 1990 where he specialized in non-criminal law, namely civil and administrative law and briefly in legislative issues. He became a banking lawyer in the early 1990´s and worked as a director of the legal department and member of top management of Komerční banka, and later as a senior lawyer of the newly established branch of Austrian Creditanstalt. There, he assisted in developing banking standards in the Czech Republic in the form of laws and regulations as well as internal rules, know-how and legal documentation for day-to-day practice of newly introduced banking products.
In 1991, Roman Felix founded the private law firm, Felix a spol., an association of attorneys, which was succeeded by Felix a spol., a limited liability company, in 2007. As a senior partner, Felix has been actively involved in a majority of the firm´s key cases, in particular in the area of commercial and company law. His professional interests and experience cover, inter alia, banking and securities, public procurement, real estate and construction law including large development projects. In addition, Felix is an expert on IT law and in that capacity he assisted both large international as well as smaller domestic software companies in delivering IT solutions to Czech firms and government organizations. When representing clients before the courts, Roman Felix has produced outstanding results in complicated cases involving large financial sums. For several years now he has headed a team of lawyers representing the Czech government and providing legal opinions as well as making motions on its behalf in arbitrations and court cases worth several billions of Czech crowns. Roman Felix has been involved in legal cases of major importance or in cases closely followed by the media. For instance, most recently he represented a Czech municipality before the Supreme Administrative Court and the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic in a case regarding the constitutionality of local elections and in a dispute over the ownership of a major work of art – a piece of national cultural heritage.
JUDr. Karel CodlAttorney-at-law
After graduating from Charles University´s Faculty of Law in 1988, JUDr. Karel Codl worked briefly (1988-1990) at the Regional Court in České Budějovice. In the 1990´s, he left for the private sector and became a lawyer in the legal department of Komerční banka. There, he assisted in developing banking standards in the Czech Republic. In 1991, Karel Codl co-founded the private law firm, Felix a spol. Due to his past experience and expertise of a banking lawyer, he has taken up financial, banking and insurance law as his specialty in the private law firm, providing legal advice to numerous banks, building societies, investment companies and funds as well as to other financial institutions. In addition, he provides services in related areas, such as transfers and management of receivables, leasing contracts, securing of bank trades and other banking and financial instruments.
During his extensive practice as a lawyer, Karel Codl has worked on the general commercial law agenda as well. In addition to common commercial cases, he handles competition law issues, namely public procurement. He has produced outstanding results for business clients representing them before the Czech Antimonopoly Office (Office for the Protection of Competition). Additionally, he is an expert in real estate and construction law, and since the mid-1990´s, he has been responsible for drafting comprehensive legal documentation for real estate transfers worth hundreds of millions of Czech crowns.

JUDr. Jana Felixová graduated from Charles University´s Faculty of Law in 1984. Between 1984 and 1987, she worked at the international department of Pragokoncert, a Prague-based live entertainment agency. In 1991, she assisted with the opening of the Czech branch of the international law firm Mc Kenna & Co., where she worked until 1993 providing legal advice to various foreign companies coming to the Czech market. In 1993, she joined Felix a spol. In her practice as an attorney, she works mainly for international clientele focusing on corporate and commercial law, as well as labor law, and social security and health insurance law in the context of tax laws and regulations. As a partner in Felix a spol., she is responsible for the financial and HR agenda of the company, and represents it in the global Legalink network. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors of the European network Nomos Lawyers International. Jana Felixová is a court-certified translator and interpreter from the English language.

After graduating from Charles University´s Faculty of Law in 1987, JUDr. Antonín Novák started his career at the Municipal Court in Prague where he worked between 1988-1989. An important change in his professional life came in 1989, when he joined the legal department of Komerční banka where he, together with JUDr. Roman Felix, assisted in developing banking standards in the Czech Republic in the form of laws and regulations as well as internal rules, know-how and legal documentation for newly developing banking practice. As a banking lawyer he also contributed to drafting contracts and documents for the newly established Czech branch of Austrian Creditanstalt. A founding partner of Felix a spol., he is a full-time attorney since 1991 specialized in real estate, legal advice to developers and construction law. He represents clients in disputes stemming from construction and development business.

A founding partner of Felix a spol., JUDr. Ivan Roubal graduated from Charles University´s Faculty of Law in 1987. He worked at the Regional Court in Prague and later for the Czech National Bank, where he helped establish and launch into operation the first commercial bank, Komerční banka. Using his comprehensive knowledge of banking law, he worked in the legal department of Komerční banka where he assisted in developing internal rules, know-how and legal documentation for day-to-day practice of newly introduced banking products in the conditions of market economy. As an attorney with Felix a spol., he specializes in commercial and civil law with a particular focus on intellectual property and industrial design. An expert on contractual agenda, he is a member of the company´s team, which provides legal advice and comprehensive legal services to large banks on the Czech market.
Additionally, he works in the area of real estate and transportation law, and represents clients in arbitration and insolvency proceedings. Ivan Roubal provides legal services to German and Polish speaking clientele.

JUDr. Vít Široký graduated from Charles University´s Faculty of Law and he has been an attorney in Felix a spol. since 1993. Specializing in criminal and administrative infractions law, dr. Široký is considered a leading and sought-after expert on Czech criminal law thanks to his previous professional experience in the justice sector, namely at the Prague´s Office of Prosecution and later at the Supreme Office of Prosecution, as well as many years of practice as an attorney. He provides expert advice and consultancy to clients to help minimize the risk of criminal liability in connection with their business activity, and to prevent such risk. While consistently attaining exceptional results as a criminal defense lawyer, namely in cases of serious economic crime, property and tax crime, he mainly deals with liability issues in the area of private law.

Jaroslav Tajbr, M.A., began his career at Felix a spol. as a student of the Charles University´s Faculty of Law. After his graduation in 1996, he worked as an articled clerk and following his bar exam in 2000, he became a partner. He covers predominantly commercial and civil law, and specializes in company law, including mergers and acquisitions. He is a renowned draftsman of commercial contracts for business clients, ranging from leading Czech companies to medium and small enterprises. Jaroslav Tajbr is also experienced in the area of collection of receivables and crisis management, insolvency issues and representation of creditors and their claims at creditors´ committees. In the area of collection of receivables and enforcement of claims, he works closely with court-appointed bailiffs. As regards civil law, Jaroslav Tajbr covers protection of personal rights and represents real property owners, drafting purchase, lease and collateral agreements.

Eva Veselá, M.A., graduated from Charles University´s Faculty of Law in 1993 and has worked for Felix a spol. since 1992 in turn as a legal intern, articled clerk and later an attorney. She became a partner of Felix a spol. in 1999. In collaboration with our partner firms abroad, she provides legal services in cases with cross-border dimension. As an attorney, she specializes in commercial and civil law, namely contractual law with a special focus on credits and loans as well as other banking transactions, and underlying security. Having worked in collaboration with JUDr. Roman Felix for various banks for many years, she is able to utilize this experience in her own work for financial institutions and in cases of disputes stemming from banking transactions. In the area of civil law, she has extensive experience with restitutions of agricultural property and with real property in general. Providing legal advice to market research companies and public opinion agencies, she has a thorough knowledge of data protection issues. Lastly, she covers family law.

Since 1991, when he graduated from Charles University´s Faculty of Law, JUDr. Tomáš Homola practiced as an attorney. In 1994, he was one of the founding partners of Prague-based law firm, Uhlíř, Homola a spol., where he worked until early 2016. He joins Felix a spol. as a partner starting April 1, 2016.
Tomáš Homola specializes in civil law and related disciplines. During his practice, he successfully handled numerous complex property-restitution cases and he continues to work in restitutions until today. He was involved in restructuring programs of several large companies, both in the position of an administrator and legal advisor. In addition, he works in the area of mergers and acquisitions.
In 2008, he was listed as an arbitrator for the Arbitration Court attached to the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Agricultural Chamber. He is also listed as an arbitrator for consumer disputes by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic. Additionally, he specializes in family law and family-owned businesses.
Between 2010 and 2015, he was a member of the Disciplinary Panel of the Supreme Administrative Court in Brno. In 2014, he was elected a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the Czech Bar Association.
Tomáš Homola has been active in a number of non-profit organizations for arts and culture. Between 2008 and 2012, he served as a member of the Board of Supervisors for the Kampa Museum – Jan and Meda Mládek Foundation. Since 2012, he is a member of the Board of Supervisors for the Prague Literature House of German Language Authors, and he serves as an expert on the Expert Panel of the Prague City Hall´s Heritage Department. He is a member of the Franz Kafka Society since February 2016. He is also an elected representative for Prague 5.

With his experience of many years in the area of real estate and real-estate development, he has been the chief legal advisor to an U.K. property fund over the past eight years having assisted with more than two dozens of acquisitions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. To cover the entire range of real-estate related transactions, Tomáš Pekárek also specializes in the area of project financing, namely structuring and negotiating loan and security documents. In addition, he provides complete legal service to long-term clients of Felix a spol., particularly in the area of corporate and labor law.

Since 1999 when he graduated from Western Bohemian University´s Faculty of Law in Pilsen, Ondřej Ambrož, M.A., linked his professional career with Felix a spol. While he was an articled clerk there between 1999 and 2002, he has become an associate attorney since early 2003. In his legal practice, he specializes in criminal and administrative infractions law and acts as a defense counsel in criminal matters of economic crime, volume and violent crime. Additionally, he covers motor-vehicle accidents issues where he both represents clients in criminal or administrative proceedings and assists with damages claims. He boasts practical experience in the area of human rights, including representation before the Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. When it comes to private-law issues and civil disputes, he specializes in company law, collection of receivables from business transactions as well as labor-law disputes, including representation before the courts. Furthermore, his practical experience includes bankruptcy law and real-estate contracts.

Mgr. Adam Felix, LL.M., received his Masters from the Charles University´s Law School in Prague, where, during his studies, he also held the position of vice-president of the Academic Senate. He gained experience through internships at various courts, the public prosecutor’s office, and in law firms abroad (New York City, Washington D.C., Paris). After finishing his studies, he worked as an articled clerk at a leading Prague law firm. He completed his bar examinations in 2016. Currently, he serves as an external doctoral student at the Department of Criminal Law at Charles University in Prague, with an emphasis on the criminal liability of legal persons. In the years 2016-2017, he gained experience as part of his post-graduate work at Cornell University (Cornell Tech in New York and Israel) earning the LL.M. degree. Since August 2017, he is an attorney at Felix a spol., specializing in ICT law, cybersecurity, privacy protection, cryptocurrencies, commercial law, criminal law, and conflict resolution.

Having spent two semesters of his studies at the Law School of the Christian Albrechts Universität in Kiel, Germany, under the umbrella of the ERASMUS Program, Matěj Smolař, M.A., graduated from Charles University´s Faculty of Law in 2002. He was an articled clerk and later an attorney with AK Rödl & Partner in Prague and as of 2006 he is an associate with Felix a spol. He devotes himself to commercial law (both corporate law and law of obligations), public procurement, and real-estate law. Last but not least, he represents clients before the courts.

JUDr. Jakub Morávek, Ph. D.Attorney-at-law
JUDr. Jakub Morávek is an attorney with Felix a spol. and an academic counselor and faculty member at the Department of Labor Law and Social Security Law at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague where he teaches primary labor law and social-security law and serves as a guarantor of several select subjects. He also conducts academic research. Between 2010 and 2012, he worked for the Office for Personal Data Protection where he was the head of the Department of Legal Support and Schengen Cooperation. Jakub Morávek writes regularly for specialized periodicals and is an author or co-author of several publications (such as Labor-Law Case Studies, Public Servants Act, Commentary, Personal Data Protection in Labor-Law Relations, and Agency Employment in Broader Context).
Jakub Morávek has successfully authored or co-authored a number of grant projects (e.g. GAČR, GAUK). As a member of the Czech Society for Labor Law and Social Security Law, he nominates candidates for the book award of the Karlovy Vary Law Days. Last but not least, Jakub Morávek is a member of a working party of the Government Council for the Coordination of the Fight against Corruption. He lectures regularly on data protection issues and conducts training seminars on the Czech Labor Code. In 2012, he was awarded the title Lawyer of the Year in the category Talent of the Year.

JUDr. Jiří Müller graduated from Charles University´s Faculty of Law in 1977. He held various positions at the department of consulate services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the year 2000, he became a partner in HASLINGER/NAGELE & PARTNER, v. o. s., and since 2006, he has become an associate of Felix a spol. JUDr. Marie Marková became a member of our team in May 2018 after she was sworn in to the Czech Bar. Before joining Felix a spol., Marie spent 42 years in the judiciary, where she served as a presiding judge on a juvenile bench in Prague 1, and then on a criminal bench of the Municipal Court in Prague. Relying on her longtime experience as a judge and an expert in criminal justice, Marie has joined our criminal-law team to provide legal assistance to clients dealing with tort liability.

He joined Felix a spol. in November 2013 as a legal assistant, transitioning to an articling clerk after finishing his studies in January 2015. He became an attorney after taking his bar exam in June 2018. In his practice, he specializes in contracts, especially as pertaining to real state and company acquisitions, including pre-investment due diligence. He also focuses on the issue of business corporations and litigations.

Karolína Adámková, M.A., gained professional experience during her studies at the Charles University´s Law School, both as a legal assistant at several Prague law firms and through an internship at the District Court for Prague 1. She deepened her language skills during a year of study at the Paris Sorbonne. After successfully participating in a moot court focused on criminal law, co-organized by AK Felix a spol., she accepted an offer to work with the firm and became a member of our team in June 2017, as an attorney´s assistant. She received her Master´s in September 2017 and since then has continued to work at AK Felix a spol. as an articled clerk. Karolína has just begun her doctoral studies at the Charles University´s Faculty of Law.

Kateřina Gabrhelíková, M.A., holds a degree from the Masaryk University´s School of Law in Brno. During her studies, she gained practical experience in various branches of law. First, she worked in the position of legal assistant at a law firm in Brno, then as a legal consultant in a consumer-protection agency. She held an internship at the District Court of Zlín and at a non-profit organization, where she mostly specialized in medical law and social security law. During her studies, she published articles mainly on environmental law. After finishing her studies in the fall of 2018, she accepted the position of articling clerk at Felix a spol.

Michaela Prodělalová, M.A., holds a degree from the Masaryk University´s School of Law in Brno. She developed an interest in languages during her studies, was active in international student organizations, and often spent time abroad, for example in Budapešť where she spent a semester through the Erasmus Program at the Karoli Gaspar University´s School of Law. Before the end of her studies, she moved to the UK and wrote her dissertation at the British Library in London. In 2016, she moved to New Zealand where she obtained an internship at a non-profit organization called Auckland Community Law Centre and thus had the opportunity to familiarize herself with New Zealand law. Upon her return to the Czech Republic, she joined Felix a spol. where, since October 2018, she has been working as an articling clerk. She is interested in international law and is planning to begin working towards an LL.M. (Master of Law.)

Mgr. Zuzana BurdováArticled Clerk
Zuzana Burdová, M.A., holds a degree from the Palacký University´s School of Law in Olomouc. During her studies, she gained practical experience as an intern in two Prague-based law firms specialized in commercial, civil, insurance and criminal law. In addition to studying law, she learnt several foreign languages as she frequently spent time abroad. In order to improve her French, she spent two semesters in France, at the Université Clermont Auvergne and the Université de Nantes where she also studied the European Union law as well as international law. After returning to the Czech Republic in August of 2018, she joined the team of Felix a spol. as an articling clerk.
