AIJA – 54th INTERNATIONAL YOUNG LAWYERS´ CONGRESS 2016, MUNICH

Between 23rd and 27th August, 2016, a conference of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) was held in Munich, with Felix a spol. represented by Klára Grmelová, M. A..

AIJA, i.e. Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats, is an international organization uniting young lawyers from around the world. Founded in 1962, it currently has more than four thousand members.

The supreme body of AIJA is its general assembly which is traditionally convened on the occasion of the annual conference, this year hosted by Munich. A series of expert presentations and panels focusing on a particular area of law was held at the conference with the aim of linking experiences and establishing effective cooperation among and between the participating offices in their legal field. Parallel to that, the permanent working commissions, which there are currently twenty, held their meetings.

AIJA traditionally focuses its activities not only on the exchange of experiences, information and new technologies in connection with providing legal services, but also on human rights. At this year’s conference, migration issues and the possible role of lawyers in this area were discussed, legal flashmob in support of human rights was conducted and the “Run for Human Rights” held.
