This year’s annual meeting of the Legalink international network of law firms took place from April 16th to 18th in Budapest. The Hungarian law firm Szecskay Attorneys at Law welcomed nearly 80 representatives from member firms around the world.

Mgr. Tomáš Pekárek represented Felix a spol. at this event.
The official part of the event featured, among other things, contributions addressing recent political and legal developments in Hungary following the parliamentary elections, as well as the current geopolitical and economic situation and its impact on business and law. Discussions also covered legal aspects of the space technologies development, and a dedicated session focused on the wellbeing and mental health of professionals working in the legal sector.
An important part of the gathering consisted of break-out thematic focus groups, within which participants shared experience and discussed recent events, practical insights, and trends in their respective areas of expertise. Nearly all break-out groups dedicated significant attention to artificial intelligence and its impact on contemporary legal practice. Discussions focused in particular on the effective and responsible use of AI in clients’ interests, issues of data protection and confidentiality, implications for the organization of legal work, and broader professional and ethical aspects of legal practice.
The Budapest meeting also saw the official admittance of new member firms into the Legalink network: RKKW Kwasnicki Wrobel & Partnerzy (Poland), Klauberg Baltics (Baltic region), and Maaron Law Firm (Cameroon).
