„Law In Sports.“, That was the title of the educational seminar hosted by the Czech Olympic Delegation at the beginning of November 2019 as part of its educational program called Sports Diplomacy. Listeners including employees, volunteers, and athletes in Czech sports organizations were greeted by JUDr. Jakub Morávek, Ph.D., a lawyer and partner of Felix a spol. who gave a lecture on “The Legal Standing of the Athlete: Employee or Self-Employed?” His talk dealt with the position of a professional athlete, professional sports clubs as employers vs. independent contractors and their mutual rights and responsibilities.
