On April 17, 2013, our colleague JUDr. Jakub Morávek delivered his contribution „Failed holidays: when your vacation trip is not what you expected“, as part of the panel Hotel as an Experience at the Hospitality & Tourism Summit 2013. In his presentation, he introduced changes which will affect tour operators as of January 2014 when the new Civil Code enters into effect, namely provisions of Sections § 2521 – 2549 on holiday trip contracts and the underlying obligations of tour organizers to compensate not only for material damage but also for immaterial harm arising from cancelled or shortened holiday trips.
